Another Birthday

Today is the birthday of 2 men in my life.

One is my dad, who is now deceased and has been for almost 30 years. There are so many things, I regret not saying to him. He taught me to be open minded. He had an interesting sense of humor, many would say crude. But I loved him so, even though we fought quite a bit.

The second one is my dear husband, Dan. The man who has put up and gotten me through so many things in the past 34 years. The man, I can't imagine living without.

Now growing up I know I said, "I wouldn't marry like my father!" but there are many, many similarities.

To start off with they shared the same birthday (15 years apart).
They both did the same job in the Navy.
They both were career Navy (yes, that hairy man is retired service).
They both have that same crude humor.
And they both adored and adore their wives.
So all in all, I did good marrying similar to my father.
On this day, I pray they both know how much I love them and how much I could not do without them in my life.
