Another Weekend Down

Well, after a week of preparation, another weekend is down and gone!
We had a Council Camporee. The theme was "Siege the Day" or a Medieval theme.
I hope to find pictures of my crew soon and post them.
Mary, Abby, Bethany and I manned the Trading Post.
Nick, Nate and Ben were "Robin Hood" archers for the archery section.
Dan, Daniel and George were a Lord and Knights over the Jousting event.
There was a group from the local SCA group there. They taught the boys how to use their swords and shields. And yes, there were bumps, bruises and scrapes. The evening event featured one of the reinactors doing battle with one of the professional scouters.
A good time was had by all. We about froze. The temps dropped very low at night. And during the day we had severe winds which gave us one heck of a wind chill.
As normal, some of my children were attracted to the local SCA people. Friends were made. You can never have too many friends, just too many events to go to :(
